Run. Eat. Drink.
Welcome to Our Marathon Restaurants and Other Gathering Spots!
Athens is known for its creative food and drink scene, and we are excited to be partnering with local businesses including Big City Bread Cafe, The National, Creature Comforts Brewery, and Agua Linda! All of them will offer special menu items or other options for runners and other visitors during race weekend.
Big City Bread Cafe
393 North Finley Street
Athens, GA, 30601
(706) 353-0029
For 20 years, Big City Bread Cafe has served house-made breads, pastries, and cakes; delicious meals crafted with locally sourced produce, meats, and cheeses; fine wine and beer, and locally roasted Publica coffee and espresso drinks. Open daily for casual, family friendly breakfast, lunch, or brunch, plus Friday dinner. The specials menu at Big City Bread for Friday evening, January 24, will be specifically created for runners! Dinner hours are 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. (and Big City Bread is a great bet for brunch Sunday morning, too, if you are staying over!).
The National

Athens, GA, 30601
(706) 549-3450
The National has served Mediterranean inspired food, wine, and cocktails in their intimate dining room and bar since 2007. Their aim is to provide a casual neighborhood gathering spot reminiscent of European bars and cafés, while also valuing local farmers and reflecting the seasons of Northeast Georgia. Several specials at The National for Friday evening, January 24, will be specifically created for runners! Dinner hours are 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. The National recommends reservations for dinner and has a maximum party size of 8 guests.
Creature Comforts Brewery

Located in a former tire shop in downtown Athens, the Creature Comforts taproom showcases reclaimed materials and signage from the building’s early days. Their taproom provides plenty of friendly, communal seating, plus snacks at the bar, an expansive outdoor patio (with heaters), and usually a food truck. Creature Comforts is the site of our Saturday evening After Party (5:00 - 7:00 p.m., January 25), and watch for their amazing marathon-finisher can design!
