Our 2024 and 2025 Ambassadors posted about their amazing running stories and helped us spread the word about the Classic City Marathon.
For 2026, we are seeking a smaller group with a wide range of ideas. What have you thought of, that we have not thought of yet?

Volunteer
The lululemon Classic City Marathon is only possible because of our incredible volunteers! Grab your friends or co-workers and join us to point the way as a course monitor, hand out water on the course, greet runners at the finish line, or share your expertise on our medical team. Volunteers are an indispensable part of our races. We need groups and individuals.
Be a Pacer
Are you looking to run a marathon or half marathon in a new way? Try running as a pacer! These awesome individuals guide runners through the course with time requirements. In order to be considered for a pacing position, you must submit recent race results or share your Strava profile with the committee.
Cheer Sections
Cheer Sections provide energy and good vibes to our runners, our visitors, and the Athens community on race day. Bring your group’s banners, create some silly running signs, have a costume party, or host a tailgate! We’ll have a prize for the most spirited cheer section, and you might start a new Athens tradition. So go on, dust off those cowbells…

Make a Gift
Donations are always a much-appreciated form of support for the Classic City Marathon. Our organization is a 503(c) nonprofit, which means your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law for your individual tax circumstances.
