Our Classic City Marathon Ambassadors share their passion about running and serve as liaisons between our Association, the Athens community, and our participants everywhere. Find our Ambassadors online, look for them at a run or in your community during 2025, or become one yourself!

2026 Lead Ambassador: Ella Bourbonnais

Ella shared her story as ambassador during 2024, while she prepared for the 2025 Classic City Marathon — her first full marathon! 2026 Social Media Ambassadors

Social Media Ambassadors share about their journeys and our races online.

We ask Social Media Ambassadors to commit to helping us in two ways.

  • Post routinely in your way to your social media about running, training, and our races, throughout September 1, 2025, through January 25, 2026.

  • Post occasionally to your social media in ways that follow some suggestions provided by our Lead Ambassador or by our Communications and Marketing Team, a few times between September 1, 2025, and January 25, 2026.

Submit this form any time before August 30, 2025, if you would like to be considered to become a 2026 Classic City Marathon Social Media Ambassador. Social Media Ambassadors should be planning to run our 2026 marathon, half marathon, or marathon relay.

2026 Runners Ambassadors

Runners Ambassadors connect us to potential race participants. Anyone can be a 2026 Runners Ambassador, at any time!

  • If you do not live in the Athens area, we can mail you some flyers and other goodies to share with your run club, community group, school, work group, running store, or book club. Email us, and we will send you what you need.

  • If you do live in the Athens area, you can take our flyers and other goodies to any weekly run, to any other races you might be traveling to, or to any group you’d like, during the second half of 2025. Email us, and we will get you what you need.

  • Other ideas? Email us! We would love to hear about your one-time ideas, your grand plans, and anything in between.

2026 Community Ambassadors

Community Ambassadors connect to our race-route neighborhoods.

  • If you live or work anywhere near or on our race route, let’s make sure race day runs smoothly for everyone. You could host a block party for yourselves that is a Cheer Zone for runners, among many other options!

  • Email us to let us know what you need or how we could connect with your neighborhood. We would love to hear about your one-time ideas, your grand plans, and anything in between.

We expect all Ambassadors to consistently support the mission of the Athens Road Runners: to foster an inclusive and supportive community where runners and walkers of all abilities are empowered to achieve their fitness, friendship, and training goals.
