Our medal is designed every year by a student from the Clarke County School District. And we are furthering the long tradition of marathon posters with new work by professional Athens-area artists!
Our 2026 Artists!
Cordasia Mitchell
2026 Medal Designer
Cordasia Mitchell is a senior at Clarke Central High School. She wrote, “Through art, I’ve always wanted to create pieces that resonate emotionally and inspire pride. I chose these designs as I was inspired to reference ancient Greece and the origins of the marathon event itself. Designing the medal for the 2026 Classic City Marathon was an honor and a dream come true.”
Jamie Calkin
2026 Poster Artist
Jamie Calkin is an Athens, Georgia–based artist known for his vibrant ink and watercolor paintings of local landmarks, campuses, and community life. His work combines bold linework, bright color, and a strong sense of place, appearing in murals, prints, and commissioned pieces across Georgia.
Our 2025 Artists
London Moore
2025 Medal Designer
London Moore was a senior at Cedar Shoals High School in the fall of 2024. She wrote, “I’ve enjoyed creating artwork since I was young. Art can reach so many feelings inside of us and can also really connect people. In designing this sketch for the 2025 medal, I was inspired by the bustling atmosphere of the marathon as well as the strength of the runners.”
2025 Poster Artist
Anna Forrester is an editor and a creative person based in Athens, GA. Her work revolves around mapmaking, outdoorscapes, place portraits, and local and regional illustrations, all of which intersect with the thing she loves most — walking long trails.

Zachary Jarrett
2024 Medal Designer
Zachary Jarrett was a senior at Cedar Shoals High School in the fall of 2023. He explained, “When I created these designs, I was heavily inspired by the athletic components of the race itself but also the Greek-inspired style, aesthetic, and atmosphere of Athens. Having real-life connections in creating art expanded my own artistic vision and interest, and I am grateful for the opportunity to create this design.”
2024 Poster Artist
Born and raised in Athens, Broderick Flanigan uses art to foster cultural inclusion and community engagement. Among other accomplishments, he owns Flanigan’s Portrait Studio in Athens and created a mural-arts program for teens known as HARPS (Helping Art Reach Public Spaces).
