Guided by History. Details for Today!

The marathon might have originated in Ancient Greece, but the modern marathon weekend is right here in Georgia's Classic City! The Athens Road Runners club and its Classic City Marathon Association seek to make the lululemon Classic City Marathon the best possible experience for all runners, families, friends, spectators, sponsors, businesses, volunteers, city and county workers, and everyone else in the Athens area!

We take our cue from the spirit of Athena, the classical patron goddess of wisdom, heroic endeavor, and the arts. We invite you to explore all the pages of this website to find all the information you need, and then to join us for a thoroughly modern marathon, half marathon, or marathon relay.

Our Communities of Support

Our title sponsor, lululemon, has believed in us since before our inaugural 2024 races.

We could not be more proud to be known as the lululemon Classic City Marathon, Half Marathon, and Relay.

Our special few platinum-level sponsors provide sustaining gifts that shape our races.

We gratefully acknowledge the financial and other support we receive from Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center, our only 2025 Platinum sponsor.

The Relay Exchange Zones are made possible through the support of our gold-level sponsors!

We also depend on our many other sponsors and volunteers. Thank you to our entire community!
